I can't believe that I had missed this up until now! David Hancock wrote about brittanies and mentioned Ber!! 🥹 🥰
The Countryman's Weekly Trophy is awarded as part of the BASC working gundog classes, where dogs qualify by having been signed off by a keeper as having worked throughout the past season. Ber winning the AV HPR, pointer, or setter working gundog dog class and getting this fantastic trophy for a year was one of the best moments of my life - it was a wonderful surprise as he was up against some gorgeous dual purpose dogs.
Reading this article brought a tear to my eye. I wish I'd seen it before David Hancock died, as I would have liked to write to him to express my thanks. He wrote so many fantastic articles and I love his ethos of keeping working breeds working and form relating to function.
